Insights (Continued)
You can’t focus on the war instead of the battle until you are crystal clear about what the war is – what your personal long-term goals are. Figure out where you plan to be when you reach your goals and that clarity will become the foundation of your success.

Many people focus on battles because they don’t think long term at all. They don’t focus on the war because they’re not living their lives in terms of long term goals. It’s a trap you can beat. You can take the high ground. Fight and win the war while others are focused on battles. Its all up to you. Even though most people don’t put a lot of thought into their long term goals and therefore ended up fighting other people’s war and playing other people’s game. You can fight your own war and play our own game.

You get to decide how you will help others next time. Perhaps by becoming wealthy and using your money to help people you care about becoming healthy, educated and independent. Or perhaps by devoting time to teaching young people things they need to know or ways of reaching their own goals. Whatever path you choose, so long as your long term goal is a goal of service, a goal of helping others, you are exercising the power to succeed. Simply by being mindful of the difference between short term struggles and long term goals, you gain an edge in how you think and feel and act.

Amazing Discovery!!
The biggest squid ever caught, at up to 10 metres long and boasting a fearsome beak and razor-sharp hooks, may be small compared to others still lurking in the depths, scientists said Tuesday. The colossal squid has begun a two-day thaw at The Museum of New Zealand in Wellington before it is examined in more detail Wednesday by an international team of scientists.

It weighs 495 kilograms (1,090 pounds), has eyes the size of dinner plates and is estimated at up to 10 metres (33 feet) long.
But that may be relatively small, scientists say after initial examination, suggesting other colossal squid (Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni) under the chilly Antarctic waters might grow much larger. On a museum blog following the progress of the thaw, Chris Paulin -- who is projects manager at the museum, known as Te Papa Tongarewa, said Tuesday that the beak of the colossal squid has been exposed as the flesh defrosts.

The size of the lower beak -- used to chop prey into bite sized pieces -- is around 43 to 45 millimetres. Colossal squid lower beaks previously found in the stomachs of sperm whales have been as long as 49 millimetres. Extrapolating the relationship between the length of the beak and body size from another smaller specimen being examined suggests the species could grow much bigger, Paulin said.

"Can we assume that this species reaches three quarters of a tonne in weight?" he asked. One of the scientists leading the examination, Auckland University of Technology squid expert Steve O'Shea, said it was difficult to say how much bigger the monster squid could grow.

"What we know from that one measurement is that the beak of this animal from the stomachs of sperm whales are considerably larger," O'Shea told Radio New Zealand.
"We make the leap to say the colossal squid grows considerably larger than the 495 kilogram one we are currently defrosting." O'Shea has previously described the colossal squid, which has razor-sharp swivelling hooks at the end of its tentacles, as "a nasty aggressive sort of squid... a gelatinous blob with seriously evil arms on it." If the new specimen was cut into squid rings, they would be size of tractor tyres, although they would taste like ammonia.

The colossal squid was caught as it ate an Antarctic toothfish hooked on a fishing boat's long line in Antarctic waters in February last year. After being snap frozen, it was given to the museum, which has since been deciding the best way to defrost, examine and display it. Suggestions such as using a giant microwave to unfreeze it were discarded, and on Monday the squid was placed in a tank filled with cold salty water to ensure it defrosts slowly without decomposing.

The squid is so large that there was a risk the outside flesh would start to rot before the inside had thawed. Defrosting is due to finish Wednesday when scientists will learn as much as they can before the squid is preserved in formalin to go on show in a massive tank at the museum later this year.

The progress of the thawing is being shown live by webcams on the museum's website http://www.tepapa.govt.nz/.

Helping others win and seeking to win yourself. You win the biggest victories yourself by helping others win. Being their trusted ally is a more powerful position than being the last man standing after a battle.

Always focus on the war and never on the battle – always on the long term goal and never on the short term victory. The easiest victories are the petty ones. The truly important victories are few and far between. The critical insight is that short term never really matters. Wining battles does not win wars.

In the long run, business success built on serving others helps you accumulate capital you need to have a lasting positive impact on people. With the value of service propelling you when you compete, who’s going to win? Who’s going to make a difference? Definitely not the competitor who wants to win for the sake of personal rewards.

Fighting against what you don’t like is less important and less productive than fighting for what you do like. Making more of what’s good is more virtuous and more productive than trying to eliminate what’s bad. By winning the far more important war to be better people ourselves, to create more of what’s good rather than try to eliminate the things we think are bad. The good we create will drive the bad out without our having to play the negatives roles of warriors against the bad. We have the greater privilege of being for something better, instead.

If you look at yourself and see some failings, focus on what you actually like about yourself, about what you do right and make that part of you stronger, instead of trying to beat down the dark side. You can fight what’s wrong by falling more in love with what’s right.

The 2 types of people..
There are 2 types of people out there. First Type, those who REALLY REALLY don't know what they want it life. It is sad to know but LIFE is CRUEL. Second Type, those who do not know how to get to their Dreams/Goals/Achievements, etc. So if I mix the combination, you have

1. Don't know what they want, don't know how to get there.
2. Don't know what they want, know how to get there.

3. Know what they want, don't know how to get there.
4. Know what they want, don't know how to get there.

Think for 3 seconds, which group do you belong.

The tough part will be jumping from Group 1 and 2 to Group 3 and 4. It does not happen overnight. You have to know where you want to go before you find out how to get there. Some just really do not want to go ANYWHERE. Hope you are not 1 of them. But whichever group you belong now, there is still hope as long as you are willing to give yourself a chance.

How to Achieve Your Goals?
1. Set your goals
You will get nowhere if you cannot decide on a direction. Clear intention is essential.

2. Plan to achieve
Having an intention is the first step but organizing them and putting them to good use is even more crucial. Spend some time by yourself in a quiet room churning out your goal list. This is your compass, guiding to success. Ask yourself what you really want to achieve and what is really important to you.

Are your expectations realistic? Are you prepared to sacrifice and pay the necessary price to achieve these goals? Be really honest with yourself. You got to put in more time to plan your future. And remember, you must be very serious about your goals because they will not just happen by themselves. So don't put down frivolous thoughts as your goals. Make sure the things you put down are those that you want to achieve in life.

3. Seeing is believing
Write our goals down on a card and put them in your wallet and in your room where you will see them all the time. Brian Tracy said: "Goals in writing are dreams with deadlines." Be imaginative and make a list that will motivate you to strive. There is no limit.

4. Categorize your goals
Set your goals with your spouse or significant other, goals may revolve around finances, career, spirit, health, family and personal development. Identify what is important to you and the both of your futures! But think realistically. Don't let your goals overwhelm you.

5. Be flexible
Fret not if you see the need to change your plan or modify your short term or mid term goals. You make your own rules. Re-assess your goals regularly: daily, weekly or monthly. the most important thing is to never lose your FOCUS on what you want to achieve in life.

6. A step at a time
Have a long term focus but short term objectives. It is the small steps that keep us going and sometimes, those little successes save us from becoming frustrated by occasional short term setbacks. Ultimately what matters is that you take steps forward. This will mean that regardless of whether you are making big or small advancements towards your goal, you are still making advancement and this means that you will eventually reach where you want in the end. Also, it is very important to have the courage to face obstacles that appear along your path for you to succeed.

7. Trick of treat
Achieving these goals should be a treat, not a chore. You must be fully committed to achieving what you want. Believe in yourself and take a positive step forward every day.

8. ULTIMATELY
The only thing that stops a goal from realization is you. Your thoughts are the most potent things on earth. If they are positive, they will attract the people, circumstances, ideas and opportunity that you need.

If you can create the right mental environment, you will create the right physical environment in which you cannot fail.

If you go to work on your goals, your goals will go to work on you, if you go to work on your plan, your plan will go to work on you. Whatever good things we build end up building us.

Truth matters – though at its root, truth is something we feel, rather than something we can prove.
