Where Does Purpose Come From?
Living a life of purpose is a choice. We have the choice to strive toward goals that make the world better for others and for ourselves, or not.

Living a life of purpose makes life more meaningful, makes the world a better place and helps you reach your personal goals. But where doe purpose comes from? The greatest purpose is helping to make life in the world we live in come closer to perfection of the forms. The feeling you get when you look at your house and say, it’s nice but not as nice as it should be, comes from your inner awareness that there is an ideal form the house is striving for. Bring the imperfect world closer to the perfection of the forms was a natural ambition and a deeply satisfying purpose.

Focusing more on man’s happiness made the powerful argument that happiness flows from goodness. When we are unhappy, instead of seeking pleasure, we should seek virtue because happiness is actually a moral state. The better we are as people, the happier we will be. But that still leaves the questions of what exactly virtue is and where virtue comes from, unanswered.

The individual must make a choice to believe in a purpose, a choice based on personal feeling rather than on logic. If belief and purpose were easy, everyone would have them. Where does purpose comes from? It comes from everyone else. It comes from the complex, rich life lived by every stranger you brush against in the street.
